The owner of this property was about to list it for sale. They had painters and other trades come through to freshen up the home and they choose me to tackle the bathroom.
Their main concerns were small spots where grout was missing, cracked silicone around the spa, a hole in the plastic trim surrounding the spa where it had been bumped into and the grout on the bath table was dirty and discoloured.
First, I removed all the silicone around the spa and the vertical and horizontal joints. I then removed the grout from the bath table with a multitool.
I gave the whole bathroom a really intensive deep clean with heavy-duty alkaline-based chemical. While this fan-dried, I grabbed lunch.
Upon returning to a dry room, I regrouted the bath table and a few spots where the grout was missing with a premium, ultra-white grout.
While that was drying, I mixed a tiny batch of cream-coloured epoxy grout and used that to fill the hole in the plastic trim surrounding the spa.
I then installed a bathroom-grade white silicone to seal around the spa, up the vertical and horizontal edges and then around the floor's perimeter tile. I removed my tools, detail the room one last time and it was done.
This job took 5 hours and cost the customer $660.00*
